Synopsis: A 17 year old male was driving a 2007 Kia Spectra. He was at a posted stop sign, southbound Cresta Drive at the intersection with Rancho Bernardo Road. A 36 year old male was driving a 2001 Ford F-150. He was driving eastbound Rancho Bernardo Rd in the #1 lane. The Kia pulled out in front of the Ford and the Ford broadsided the Kia on the passenger side. The Kia's front passenger, a 17 year old female, sustained a fractured right leg requiring surgery. The rear passenger, a 16 year old female, sustained a fractured right hip. DUI is not suspected. Traffic Division responded to the scene and are investigating the collision.
