This hazardous weather outlook is for east central...north
central and northeast Kansas.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
There is a slight chance for rain and snow across far north
central Kansas this afternoon. If precipitation occurs, no
accumulations are expected.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Patchy light freezing drizzle is possible Friday morning for
areas generally along and west of highway 75.
A potentially major winter storm could affect portions of the
region on Saturday. Heavy snow will be possible late Saturday
afternoon and evening, especially across parts of north-central
Kansas, which could combine with strong winds to support
significant blowing and drifting snow. As a result, dangerous
travel conditions may occur. A few thunderstorms may also occur
generally south of Interstate 70. Everyone is urged to monitor
the latest information from the National Weather Service in
Topeka, as this system evolves.
