Armed Robbery
On February 21, 2019 at 8:58 p.m. Pleasanton police officers responded to the intersection of Bernal Ave. and Oak Vista Way to investigate a report of an armed robbery. The victim was walking eastbound on the pedestrian path on Bernal Ave. when he was approached by two suspects. One of the suspects presented a handgun and demanded the victim’s laptop bag. The victim turned over his bag with the laptop, cell phone and wallet.
The suspects fled westbound towards Chevron. One of the suspects struck the victim in the face with the handgun causing a cut to the bridge of his nose, for which he received medical attention. The victim ran home and called the police.
The first suspect is described as an adult Hispanic male, approximately 25-35 years old, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt. The victim was not able to provide a description for the second suspect.
This is a good reminder to always be aware of your surroundings.
If you see someone or something suspicious, call the police
If contacted, continue walking, don’t break your stride.
Don’t fight with an attacker or robber, your possessions are not worth getting hurt over. All of it can be replaced.
