At 501 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated that rainfall was diminishing across the warned area. However, numerous creeks and streams across this region are near or above bankful and will remain so for a while longer. Although this warning is set to expire at 630 am, if flooding continues or is expected to continue, the flood warning may need to be extended in time. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wytheville... Bland... Marion... Richlands... and Bluefield.

Instructions:
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately. When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding, including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4.
