High rain fall and wind gusts expected today thru Weds. Sand bags avail to Capitola Residents, 10 max per address.
The Nat’l Weather Service is predicting significant rainfall beginning today through Wednesday, with the County’s heaviest period on Tuesday morning through the evening hours. Several inches of rain are expected in addition to strong wind gusts.
Public Works and Capitola Police Department are monitoring the storm in conjunction with County emergency and flood control officials and will provide updates as necessary.
Santa Cruz is on the southern end of the atmospheric river’s expected landfall, and conditions are subject to change as weather conditions are updated.
Sand and bags are available for Capitola residents (10 per address) at the police department and the parking lot behind City Hall.
