MCFD Alert: Flood Warning for Marin County
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Marin County. Substantial rainfall is expected now through 3AM on Wednesday morning that could cause creek flooding. If you live in areas with a history of flooding, use precaution.
The National Weather Service is reporting that flooding is possible, and you are advised to take precautions to protect yourself and your property. Consider moving personal belongings to higher ground, including vehicles. Avoid walking in flood waters as this could pose a threat of injury or death. If present, avoid down power lines. Remember to TURN AROUND and DON’T DROWN. Do not drive through flooded streets. Do not walk in areas around the creeks. When creeks overflow their banks it happens fast and it’s very dangerous.
Stay tuned to local radio and television stations for the latest weather information or you can call the National Weather Service 24-hour weather line at 831-656-1725. Only call 9-1-1 if you are facing a life-threatening emergency.
