.A storm system developing over west Texas will track eastward across the lower Mississippi Valley this weekend. Abundant moisture will spread northward into southeast Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks and interact with a cold airmass over the region. Snow may become heavy at times Saturday night and Sunday. A wintry mix with snow, sleet and freezing rain will also be possible and could lead to dangerous travel conditions.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Heavy snow and mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 8 inches will be possible north of a linefrom Pittsburg Kansas to Bolivar to Rolla. South of this line and north of Highway 60, snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches combined with sleet accumulations up to two tenths of an inch
and ice accumulations of a light glaze will be possible.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and central, east central, south central, southwest and west central Missouri.
* WHEN...From Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult.
