City offices closed on Tuesday, March 5 for Mardi Gras holiday
On Fat Tuesday, March 5, 2019, all non-essential City of Orange Beach offices will be closed for the Mardi Gras holiday. Garbage routes will not be affected and will run as usual.
City offices will reopen for normal business hours on Wednesday, March 6.
The Orange Beach Mardi Gras parade is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. on Fat Tuesday on Perdido Beach Boulevard at the traffic signal just east of Phoenix West and the procession will travel east, ending at intersection of Highway 161 and Perdido Beach Boulevard, near the old Rite Aid.
Due to the parade, Perdido Beach Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic from as early as 1 p.m. to as late as 4 p.m. along the parade route. Exact lane closure times will vary leading up to the 2 p.m. start.
The parade route will stay on the northside of Perdido Beach Boulevard and safety barricades will be in place in high-traffic areas.
