WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST MONDAY.
* WHAT...Moderate snow, heavy at times, expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches expected.
* WHERE...Northeastern New Jersey, southern Connecticut and portions of southeastern New York.
* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Monday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact those traveling Sunday night, and the Monday morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions.

Overnight temperatures will fall to below freezing resulting in the freezing of any ponding of water from melting snow of Saturday. If you are out overnight be prepared for any slippery spots on untreated surfaces due to the refreezing of snow melt. Anyone venturing out tonight should use caution if encountering areas that appear to be wet.

Be aware of Snow Emergency Streets and move vehicles to avoid summons and tow. Snow Emergency Streets will be strictly enforced. Clear as many vehicles as possible from other streets to make snow plowing and salting operations more efficient.

We are encouraging residents to use caution when traveling, assist older neighbors and those who are disabled, and keep up with shoveling of private property throughout the storm. Please assist the Fire Department and dig out nearby fire hydrants. Monitor local news during the day for an updated forecast.
