Suspect Arrested for Possession of Illegal Narcotics and Resisting/Delaying Officers
On March 11th, 2019, at approximately 11:35 PM, an Arroyo Grande Police Department officer was on patrol when he attempted to pull over a male subject riding a bicycle for an observed traffic violation in the area of Poplar Street and Juniper Street. The male subject fled on foot from the officer, leaving behind a small amount of suspected narcotics. Additional officers, including those from the Grover Beach Police Department, established a perimeter and began searching the area where they located the male subject climbing over a fence near a residence in the 1400 block of Strawberry Avenue, where he was detained. The male subject was identified as 50 year old Manual Pineda Javier III of Grover Beach.
Javier was taken into custody and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of 148(a)(1) PC – Resisting Arrest, and 11377(a) HS – Possession of a Controlled Substance.
