Attention Rutgers Community:
The New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) is investigating a robbery which was reported to have occurred on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at approximately 8:00 PM on Dix Street between Hamilton Street and Central Avenue.
In this incident the victim, who is not affiliated with Rutgers University, reported that upon making a food delivery to a private residence he observed four males sitting on the front steps of the delivery location. He was subsequently approached by one of the male perpetrators who snatched the food from him while a second male perpetrator struck him once with a closed fist. The perpetrators removed items of value from the victim and fled the area in an unknown direction. No weapons were used in this incident and the victim sustained a minor injury and refused further medical attention on scene.
The descriptions of the perpetrators are limited at this time.
The New Brunswick Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the NBPD Detective Bureau at 732-745-5217.
