Lifeguards have advised of 20 ft. whale carcass 500 yds off shore of south Hermosa. Marine Fishery Service notified. 
The City has been notified by the LA County Fire Lifeguard Division that there is a 20 ft. gray whale carcass that is floating approximately 500 yards off shore near the southern end of Hermosa Beach. The National Marine Fishery Service has been contacted to determine next steps and LA County Lifeguards will continue to monitor the position of the whale and provide updates as additional information is available.
