Potential UAS Advancements and Use
Potential UAS Advancements and Use
The department is continuously looking for ways to improve use and adapt to new technologies in order to provide a safer environment for our community. Today Information and Technology Administrator Dan Brannon was testing computer software that would eventually allow us to improve the use of our Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) by flying the aircraft from a desktop computer while at our station. This would allow deployment of the UAS in a more timely fashion to high priority calls for service or critical incidents. The integration of this software in our system might be some time away, but we are looking now on how we can make this a reality.
