On March 20, 2019 at approximately 10:15 AM, a female student at Newbury Park High School reported an unknown male driver in a white sport utility vehicle had stopped and attempted to engage her in conversation. The student ignored the man and he left the area northbound on Lesser Drive towards Reino Road. At no time did the male exit his vehicle nor did he have any physical contact with the female student. The student is safe and was not harmed. The student left the area and reported the incident to police. The Thousand Oaks Police School Resource Unit and patrol personnel responded to the area and conducted an investigation. The investigation is on-going at this time. The driver was described as a Caucasian male, possibly in his 50’s, wearing a ball cap. The vehicle was an older model white Ford Expedition. Anyone with any information about this incident is encouraged to contact the East County Investigation Bureau at 805-494-8201.
