On March 16, 2019, at about 11:54 pm, the Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a single vehicle traffic collision at Erbes Rd. and Westland Ave. The driver, Shane Loomis, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The passenger, Amanda Gannon suffered major injuries and was also transported by ambulance to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. Loomis was traveling north on Erbes Rd. and was approaching Westland Ave. when his vehicle collided with a tree and then overturned. He was later arrested and booked for vehicular manslaughter and his bail was set at $50,000.00. Investigators are looking into the possibility that alcohol was a contributing factor. The collision is still under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Traffic Bureau.
