Police Arrest Alleged Sexual Assault Perpetrator After Extensive Investigation
On Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at approximately noon, the Santa Barbara Police Department received a 911 call stating that a woman had just been sexually assaulted in the 2700 block of Miradero Drive. The caller stated that the suspect was still at the scene.
Multiple police units arrived and eventually detained the suspect, Elpidio Monterrosa, a 31-year-old resident of Santa Barbara.
At approximately 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, Monterrosa allegedly sexually assaulted the female victim at the complex.
Officers and Detectives interviewed all of the involved parties. At the conclusion of the investigation Monterrosa was booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail on two charges stemming from the sexual assault.
