South central Mariposa County in central California... Central Madera County in central California... * Until 630 PM PDT. * At 557 PM PDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing both tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage were located 9 miles southwest of Bootjack, or 22 miles southwest of Yosemite South Entrance, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of south central Mariposa and central Madera Counties, including the following locations... Metcalf Gap, Ahwahnee and Mariposa. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows.
