On April 3, 2019, at 10:17 pm, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a vehicle chase with the stolen 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck and trailer containing the 2017 SCAG Cheeta lawnmower. The RCSO found the stolen vehicle to be operated by Todd McKinley Mann, Jr., age 22, of 212 Raven Lane, Forest City, NC. Mann was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen goods, felony flee to elude arrest, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting, obstructing and delaying officers. Mann was placed in the custody of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office under a $42,000 secured bond. On April 3, 2019, Forest City Police Department served Mann with a warrant for larceny of a motor vehicle.

Chief Jackson commented, “I would like the thank all of the officers involved in the stolen vehicle investigation, which resulted in the arrest of Christopher Mann and the recovery of the stolen property. I would like to offer a special thank you to the Deputies at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office who located the stolen vehicle and made the arrest of Mann. Without their help, the case would not have been resolved so quickly. "

At 1:28 pm today, officers responded to a call from Callison’s Recreation Center, located at 217 Clay St. in Forest City, in reference to a stolen vehicle. The truck is a 2004 white Ford F-150 that is missing the Ford emblem and has dents in the tailgate. The tag number is CEE-2937. The truck also has a 6x12 black trailer attached to it with a yellow 2017 SCAG Cheeta zero-turn mower on it. The suspect is a white male with brown hair wearing blue coveralls.
