Arrested: Yafai, Magd, 21 year old out of Oakland
Charges: Possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, possession of marijuana for sales
Narrative: On April 6, 2019 at about 12:16 AM, an Emeryville Officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop for a vehicle code violation. As the officer was standing at the driver window and speaking to the driver, the officer noticed a jar of suspected marijuana in the vehicle as well as a loaded firearm on the driver floorboard next to the driver's feet in plain view. The driver, Magd Yafai, was detained without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed over 200 grams of marijuana, a scale and packaging materials. Yafai was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle and possession of marijuana for sales.
