BTPD collecting used clothing for LEAD program.
The Bordentown Township Police Department recently received (2) clothing bins which will help fund our Law Enforcement Against Drugs Program (LEAD Program).
LEAD is a program that teaches children about the dangers of drug use, the importance of a positive lifestyle and encourages positive interactions between children and the police. This program is currently offered by our School Resource Officer to third grade students at Peter Muschal Elementary School and sixth graders at the Bordentown Regional Middle School.
The Bordentown Regional School District recently approved the placement of the clothing bins with one in the High School parking lot just off Ward Avenue and the second in the Bordentown Middle School parking lot off Dunns Mill Road.
The bins accept tied off bags containing clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, drapes and stuffed toys. There is a paper receipt form to fill out on location so that you can document how much was donated if needed for taxes.
Our LEAD program is then compensated with a predetermined amount of money per pound of clothing donated.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide to this valuable program!
