Advisory

Thinking about picking up that electronic device? PUGet about it! Pug assists SPD with crash reduction effort!

The Sheboygan Police Department continues to focus on reducing accidents through concentrated enforcement of traffic violations as well as educating the public on safe driving behavior.  In order to continue to reach residents of Sheboygan and provide safe driving tips, Kelly the Pug joined the team and a series of educational videos were developed for everyone’s viewing.  Take a moment and watch the  featured video then practice what you have learned.  This week Inattentive Driving is featured and we ask that when driving a vehicle that you focus on the road, not distractions.  This includes, but is not limited to, putting away cell phones, reaching for items that are a distance from the driver, and continually focusing on the radio station.  Distractions can be taken care of when you reach your destination safely.

As a community, the number of accidents decreased over the last couple of weeks but we are slightly ahead of last year at this time.  In 2018, we had 484 accidents and presently are at 492 accidents.  Join Kelly the Pug and other members of the community, let’s drive safely and reduce those accident numbers.
