Construction for the Westside Community Services Building expansion starts this month. Residents should expect closures and changes to the traffic and parking patterns in the parking lot as excavation of the lot may start as soon as this week.

The expansion includes moving sleeping quarters to the parking lot side and a new configured parking lot to accommodate additional police and public parking. The new lot will also include a separate driveway exit for emergency vehicles to address safety concerns.

The Westside Community Services Building remains open to the public during this time and parking is available for those attending programs or visiting the building. To ensure the shortest commute to the building, residents are encouraged to park in the stalls nearest the entrance and along West Main Street in the on-street parking.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
