Flash Flood Watch until 12:00AM Friday

A cold front will move across Arkansas today...reaching the Mississippi River by later this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will develop across the region this morning and continue into the evening hours. Locally heavy rainfall could produce flash flooding. The National Weather Service in Memphis has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include a portion of West Tennessee, including the following areas, Benton, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Gibson, Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Madison, and Weakley.

* From 7 AM CDT this morning through this evening

* Over 2 inches of rain is possible across the watch area with isolated higher amounts.

* Street flooding will be a hazard for motorists. Low-lying and poor drainage areas will be at risk for flash flooding, as well as small streams.

* AFFECTED AREAS: HENRY ... HAYWOOD ... WEAKLEY ... CROCKETT ... GIBSON ... DECATUR ... CARROLL ... CHESTER ... BENTON ... HENDERSON ... MADISON

Instructions:

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
