A cold front will move across Arkansas today...reaching the Mississippi River by later this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will develop across the region this morning and continue into the evening hours. Locally heavy rainfall could produce flash flooding. The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Portions of North Mississippi and West Tennessee, including the following areas, in North Mississippi, Alcorn, Benton, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee, Marshall, Monroe, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union. In West Tennessee, Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin, and McNairy.
* From 7 AM CDT this morning through this evening
* Over 2 inches of rain is possible across the watch area with isolated higher amounts.
* Street flooding will be a hazard for motorists. Low-lying and poor drainage areas will be at risk for flash flooding, as well as small streams.
