Deputies find fugitives and drugs during traffic stop
Deputy Jesse Hicks of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Taniese Eleanor Wallace, 39, address listed as Burnsville, with possession of methamphetamine. She was also served with outstanding warrants for trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine.
At 1:06 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, Hicks and Deputy Chris Byrd stopped a vehicle on Cemetery Road because it had no tag. Wallace was a passenger.
She was wanted as part of a raid on a house on Hicks Chapel Loop in February, where she and 45-year-old Steven Lynn Milam were charged with having 400 grams of meth and 18 grams of marijuana.
While taking Wallace into custody after the vehicle stop, Hicks found 1.5 grams of meth on the suspect.
Also, a passenger in the car, Barry Lee Sanders Jr., 35, address listed as Randolph Road in Marion, was wanted and taken into custody for breaking and entering and larceny.
It is alleged that Sanders stole a block engine and block heads, valued at $3,900, from a garage on U.S. 221 North in Marion on Jan. 7.
