SUMMARY: Central Station has a dedicated Child and Adult Protective Services Deputy who investigates allegations of child and elder abuse. On April 17, 2019, the deputy began an investigation on a referral from Children and Family Services. The allegation was of physical abuse to an 8-year-old male victim.
Parkers 4-year-old and 8-year-old were previously victims of Parkers boyfriend, Cameron Martin on a case taken in March 2019. During that investigation it was found that Martin had choked and assaulted Parkers 4-year-old son. Martin’s case has since been adjudicated and he was convicted of child abuse. Because of that investigation Parkers children were taken by Children and Family Services. When CFS took custody of the children they discovered that the 8-year-old had injuries consistent with having been punched to his face.
An investigation was started by the Central Station CFS Deputy, witnesses were contacted, and evidence was collected that provided probable cause that Shaniqua Parker had abused her children. Parker was located and arrested for felony child abuse. Parker is currently on felony probation and was booked at Central Detention Center without bail.
