INCIDENT: False Report of an Emergency
LOCATION: Buckskin Court, Victorville
SUSPECT: 14-year old male
SUMMARY: On April 23, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Police Department were requested to assist the Jefferson County Colorado Sheriff’s Department. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department was investigating a recent threat against Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Their investigation revealed the IP address for the phone used to make the threats and it was tracked to a residence in Victorville.
Deputy Z. Pritchett and Deputy M. Johnson went to the residence on Buckskin Court and talked to the family. They learned a 14-year old boy that lives at the home was the suspect that made the call to Columbine, threatening to shoot up the school and blow it up. Deputies also learned the suspect may have called FBI headquarters and made false reports of a homicide and hostage situation. The suspect reportedly made the calls so he could join an on-line gaming clan and had no intention of carrying out the threats.
The report will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and consideration. No further information is available regarding the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department’s investigation or any investigation by the FBI.
