Synopsis: A 39 year old female was driving a 2014 Ford Flex, eastbound in the number one lane of 6300 Mira Mesa Blvd. The female drifted into the number two lane and struck a vehicle, also eastbound. The female crossed over the center median and struck a tree and caught on fire. The San Diego Fire Department arrived and were able to extricate the female from the vehicle. The female was flown to the hospital with serious burns and a broken pelvis. Her injuries are considered life threatening. It is undetermined if alcohol was a factor. None of the occupants in the second vehicle were injured. Traffic Division responded to the scene and are investigating the collision.
