POLICE ACTIVITY - Update at 5:00pm
A Central Park Library employee located a suspicious package on Tuesday, April 30 at approximately 12:41pm.
In an abundance of caution, the Santa Clara Police Department evacuated the library and contacted the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad. The suspicious package was determined to be fake and contained no explosive material. This investigation is on-going.
The Central Park Library is closed for the balance of today.

The Santa Clara Police Department is on scene at the Central Park Library. Evacuation orders are in place for the library only as a result of a suspicious device. Avoid the area until further notice.
There is no impact on adjacent schools, community center, swim center or neighborhood.
