The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Northwestern Rapides Parish in central Louisiana... Vernon Parish in west central Louisiana... Northeastern Newton County in southeastern Texas...
* Until 900 PM CDT.
* At 700 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Radar estimates between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Leesville, Boyce, Anacoco, Toledo Bend Dam, Lena, Fort Polk, Slagle, New Llano, Hornbeck, Lacamp, Hutton, Clifton, Flatwoods, Otis, Burr Ferry, Kurthwood, Leander, Sieper, Gardner and Simpson. Additional rainfall of up to 2 inches is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
* AFFECTED AREAS: NEWTON, TX ... RAPIDES, LA ... VERNON, LA
