Law Enforcement personnel from the Walnut Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Station are proud to attend the Peace Officers’ Memorial in Washington D.C. this week. This year, fallen Deputy Steve Belanger's name will be added to the Memorial.

In 1994, while working at the Walnut Diamond Bar Sheriff's Station, Deputy Belanger was ambushed and shot during a traffic stop. Doctors were unable to remove the bullet from Deputy Belanger's brain. He remained under constant medical care and confined to a wheelchair until passing away on February 6, 2018.

Deputy Belanger’s family and friends, as well as personnel from the Walnut Diamond Bar Station are attending the 38th Annual National Peace Officers' Memorial to pay tribute to Deputy Belanger’s ultimate sacrifice.
