Life School Elementary charter school lockdown

On 5/14/2019 at approximately 8:02 AM, the Northern Ellis Emergency Dispatch center was contacted by the Life School Elementary Charter School located at 777 S. IH-35E in the City of Red Oak. The dispatcher was advised that they had found pistol ammunition discarded in a toilet of one of the bathrooms of the school. Red Oak Police Department personnel responded to the scene and made contact with the Life School Elementary Charter School administrative staff. The Red Oak Police Department and Life School Elementary Charter School administrative staff have ordered a lock down of the school and to shelter in place until further notice. A search of the building is currently being conducted. Officers from the Red Oak ISD Police Department, Ferris ISD Police Department, Ovilla Police Department and Ellis County Sheriff’s Office are assisting with the investigation. The Red Oak Police Department will release additional information as it becomes available.
