FINAL PRESS RELEASE UPDATE
During the investigation, the Red Oak Police Department recovered two Glock 43 pistol magazines and eight rounds of 9 mm pistol ammunition from the bathroom within Life School Elementary. The Red Oak Police Department ordered a lockdown prior to the search as a precautionary measure. The Red Oak Police Department continued searching for the firearm that matched the ammo and pistol magazines that were recovered within the bathroom.

At around 1400 hours, the Red Oak Police Department was contacted by the father of a student that picked up his child during the reunification process. The father advised the Red Oak Police Department that he had discovered that his child had taken two spare pistol magazines and ammo from their residence to the Life School Elementary where the child attends school. The father advised that the actual firearm had remained secured inside his personal gun safe at his residence and is cooperating with the investigation. The Red Oak Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is completing their investigation of the incident.

The Red Oak Police Department takes every potential threat to the safety of our citizens and children seriously and responded with all necessary resources for this incident.
