UPDATE on ESFD Investigating Report of Odor at Chevron 
UPDATE:
The ESFD determined the odor was due to a temporary release of Marcaptan, a non-hazardous chemical additive which creates a smell similar to rotten eggs. The release is under control and the incident has been closed. No further action is required.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
The El Segundo Fire Department is investigating the report of an odor at the Chevron Refinery. Air samples are being obtained and we will advise if any actions are necessary.
