Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports the arrest of Robert R. Inzer, 46, of Newark, who was wanted for robbing a Shell Gas station attendant on Friday, May 10, 2019.

Shortly after 10:20 p.m., police responded to the gas station, located at 268 Heller Parkway, after the attendant was robbed at gunpoint of his cash by a man who fled on foot heading west on Franklin Avenue.

Detectives investigating this incident developed sufficient evidence to secure a warrant for Inzer’s arrest on charges of robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and certain persons prohibited from weapon possession.

He was charged yesterday at the Essex County Correctional Facility.

These charges are merely accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
