The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Tornado Warning for... Southeastern Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas... Northwestern Newton County in southwestern Missouri... Western Jasper County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 845 PM CDT.

* At 753 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located over Galena, or near Baxter Springs, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Damaging tornado and hail up to two inches in diameter. SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed tornado. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include... Joplin... Carthage... Webb City... Carl Junction... Baxter Springs... Galena... Oronogo... Carterville... Duquesne... Duenweg... Airport Drive... Leawood... Lowell... Silver Creek... Alba... Purcell... Shoal Creek Drive... Saginaw... Carytown... Fidelity... This includes the following highways... Interstate 44 between mile markers 6 and 18.
