The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Johnathan Arroyo Rivera, of Gilroy. No suspects have been identified.

ORIGINAL RELEASE:
On May 24, 2019, at approximately 12:02 a.m., Gilroy police officers responded to the 500 block of Stoney Court for a report of an injured male. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in front of a residence suffering from at least one stab wound. Medical personnel responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the stabbing are under investigation. No suspects have been identified. There is no further information available at this time. Updated information will be provided when it becomes available.
The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office will release the victim's name after they confirm his identity and notify next of kin.
