Weather Alert - Strong Storms Possible 5pm to 8:30pm
Thunderstorms are expected to develop to the west midday today, and move east toward the region through the afternoon.
Storms will organize into a line/cluster and then advance through the area this evening. Scattered damaging winds will be the main threat from storms, with the strongest storms producing wind gusts over 50 mph. Additionally, some isolated hail will be possible along with an isolated tornado potential in the broader region.
Storms can produce heavy downpours and a scattered poor drainage flood threat will exist for the entire central NJ region, with the threat possibly enhanced given the rush hour timing of the storms.
