At approximately 7:30 PM today ADPS responded to a possible drowning near the dam at Porter St and Monroe St. 
At approximately 7:30 PM tonight, ADPS responded to a possible drowning near the dam at Porter St and Monroe St. Upon arrival, ADPS found a 55 year old woman who had fallen out of a kayak and was trapped underwater. It took firefighters approximately 10 minutes to get the woman free and out of the swift moving water. Paramedics and firefighters worked on the woman for several minutes until she was transported to the hospital. At this time we do not know the condition of the woman.
