Wilmington Police arrest man on aggravated menacing, weapon charges
Wilmington Police have arrested a 20-year-old man on aggravated menacing and weapon charges.
On May 24 at approximately 7:24 a.m., police were dispatched to the unit block of South Harrison Street for a report of an attempted robbery at a grocery store. Officers learned that the suspect was armed with a handgun and had fled the store prior to their arrival.
Responding officers broadcast a description of the suspect to additional patrol units. Within minutes, the suspect was located walking on South Franklin Street, and was taken into custody without incident. Police recovered a black pellet gun from his front waistband.
Police have charged 20-year-old Luis Andino with aggravated menacing, carrying a concealed deadly instrument and for violating a prohibition on carrying a concealed pellet gun.
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and given $6,050 unsecured bail for the above offenses. He has been committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on an unrelated matter.
