Wilmington Police arrest two, recover firearm during traffic stop
Wilmington Police have recovered a firearm and arrested two men after a motor vehicle stop.
On May 29 at approximately 11:40 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 900 block of East 17th Street when they observed a vehicle pass their patrol car and run a red light. Officers attempted a traffic stop, and after traveling for more than a block, the vehicle stopped. As police approached the vehicle, they observed a firearm.
Police have recovered a .22-caliber revolver as well as four cartridges.
The driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Francis Miller, has been charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $53,000 cash-only bail.
The passenger in the vehicle, 30-year-old Terris Broadnax, has been charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
