The Los Altos Police Department is looking forward to celebrating National Night Out with YOU on Tuesday, August 6th!
Residents are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement. Many neighborhoods choose to host a block party, ice cream social, a cookout at a park or some other community gathering.
National Night Out is celebrated in communities across the U.S. and was created to enhance police-community partnerships. The event helps spread awareness about crime prevention programs and the impact citizens can have on reducing crime, drugs and violence in their community. Local neighborhoods and homeowners’ associations play a critical role in assisting the police department in these efforts and can help make our neighborhoods safer.
