Wilmington Police arrest juvenile found driving stolen vehicle
Wilmington Police have arrested a 17-year-old female in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation.
On May 31 at approximately 4:29 p.m., police were called to the 600 block of West 39th Street in reference to a report of a vehicle that had been stolen. Officers learned that a man had left his vehicle running while unattended, at which point someone got into the vehicle and drove off.
On June 1 at approximately 5 p.m., police on patrol in the area of Vandever Avenue and Lamotte Street observed the vehicle that had been reported stolen. Officers were able to take the 17-year-old female driving the vehicle into custody without incident.
The juvenile has been charged with receiving stolen property. She was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and released to a parent pending further proceedings.
Police continue to remind motorists to be mindful not to leave vehicles running while unattended, or with keys left in the vehicle.
