Full Notification

On June 10, 2019, at 1:47 p.m., the Warsaw Police Department, along with other first responders were dispatched to an injured child call in the area of Husky Trail at North Pointe Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered an 8-year-old male child had been struck by a 2008 black Nissan Sentra. The driver of the Sentra was identified at the scene as Raven L. Loubert, age 24, from Tippecanoe, Indiana. The injured child was transported from the scene by Lutheran EMS. While enroute to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital, EMS diverted to Whitley Parkview in Columbia City where he was pronounced dead by Parkview Hospital medical staff. Identification of the victim will be released after confirmation of family notification.

Preliminary investigation indicates the child had been crossing Husky Trail at the crosswalk at the time of the collision. This is currently an active investigation. Warsaw Police Department investigators are being assisted by members of the Kosciusko County’s Fatal Team. The Warsaw Police Department has been in direct communication with Warsaw Community Schools as the child was a student and had been attending summer school.
