Advisory

UPDATE: Heat Advisory Continues Through Tomorrow, June 11.

According to the National Weather Service, the current Heat Advisory and Excessive Heat Warning will continue to remain in effect until 9 p.m. this evening.

Additionally, a Heat Advisory has been issued for our region for tomorrow, June 11, 10:00 a.m. to June 11, 9:00 p.m.

Here is what constitutes each:

Heat Advisory - Heat Index values are forecasting to meet locally defined advisory criteria for 1 to 2 days (daytime highs= 100-105° Fahrenheit).

Excessive Heat Warning - Heat Index values are forecasting to meet or exceed locally defined warning criteria for at least 2 days (daytime highs= 105-110° Fahrenheit).

We encourage you to please continue practicing heat safety, such as drinking plenty of fluids, avoiding strenuous activities, checking on family members or neighbors who may be vulnerable, and never leaving kids, vulnerable adults, or pets locked in hot cars. If you have pets, make sure they have plenty of fluids too.
