Fire Incident: Explosion 《UPDATE #2》
The preliminary investigation into this incident indicates that the explosion was caused by the 45 year old male who was working with fireworks materials in the garage. The investigation continues and no arrests have been made at this time.

As a result of the explosion, a 45 year old male resident was transported to the hospital for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. The road was reopened to traffic at approximately 10:00 AM & there is no danger to the public.
A criminal investigation is ongoing, but no arrests have been made at this time.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at approximately 9:41 PM the Middleton Police Department was dispatched to a residence in the 7100 block of South Avenue for the report of an explosion inside a garage. The investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing, but there is no danger to the public at this time.
South Avenue remains closed between Park Street & Henry Street & we ask that you avoid the area at this time. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
The Middleton Police Department was assisted by the Middleton Fire Department, Middleton EMS & the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
