Press Release: Attempted Residential Burglary Suspect Arrested

SUSPECT #1: Maria Barraza-Hernandez, 23-year-old Transient
On June 15, 2019, at about 05:07 A.M., a resident called the Milpitas Police Department and reported a female attempted to enter his home through a backyard window. Milpitas Police officers arrived on scene in less than two minutes and found Maria Barraza-Hernandez holding a shovel in the backyard of the home.
Barraza-Hernandez had a felony warrant for her arrest for burglary from an incident that occurred in the City of Concord and she was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Barraza-Hernandez was booked into the Santa Clara County Mail Jail for attempted residential burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the felony warrant.
