We all enjoy a good firework show and recognize them as an important part of our 4th of July celebrations. We also love our open spaces, our homes, our pets, and our first responders.
Fireworks have resulted in brush fires, damaged homes, missing pets, and unnecessary injuries.
Our surrounding hills are very dry and every illegal firework poses a significant threat to the safety of our community.

The City of Morgan Hill partners with the I.D.C. - Independence Day Celebration Inc. to bring you a beautiful and FREE Fireworks show at the Outdoor Sports Complex each year. The show will be held from 5-10pm on July 4, 2019, please join us. Illegally obtained fireworks and “Safe and Sane” fireworks purchased legally elsewhere are still illegal in the City of Morgan Hill. Morgan Hill Police and Fire have adopted a “zero tolerance” policy for illegal fireworks and will be actively patrolling on the 4th for violations. The use and or possession of illegal fireworks will result in the following fines.

Between July 1-7 and between December 30-January 2 each year FINES WILL TRIPLE...................
1st violation is $300, 2nd violation is $600, and 3rd violation is $1,500.

8.32.010 - Sale or possession of fireworks is prohibited.
8.32.030 - Violation of this section is a misdemeanor
