Deputies arrest a convicted felon for grand theft, possession of a firearm, ammunition & stolen property

INCIDENT: GRAND THEFT, FELON IN POSSESSION OF FIREARM, FELON IN POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION, POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
LOCATION: 24000 block of Bernard Dr., Crestline
SUSPECT: Gregg Heath Jr., 56 years old, resident of Crestline
SUMMARY:
On June 24, 2019 deputies from the Twin Peaks station responded to the 23000 block of Lake Drive in the community of Crestline reference a theft report. Deputies determined a subject backed up a white Toyota Tundra pickup truck to the rear of the victim's business, put a water fountain into the back of the pickup truck and fled the location in the vehicle. The victim's video surveillance captured the theft of the water fountain.
Through investigation deputies were able to identify the suspect as Gregg Heath Jr., a resident of Crestline. Deputies served a search warrant at Heath's residence and during the execution of the search warrant deputies located the stolen water fountain, ammunition and a loaded handgun. Deputies determined Heath was a convicted felon and he was arrested for Grand Theft, Felon in possession of a firearm, Felon in possession of ammunition and Possession of stolen property. Heath was arrested and was transported to the Central Detention Center for booking.
