Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau is investigating a former teacher from Rorimer Elementary School in La Puente, for lewd acts on a child under 14 years-old, in 2010. The most recent female victim reported an incident to Industry Sheriff Station on April 7, 2019.
Investigators have learned that Industry Station deputies responded to Rorimer Elementary School on the 18700 block of Rorimer Street in La Puente on April 7, 2019. The female victim, currently 16 years-old, told deputies she was the victim of child molestation at that school by her first grade teacher, Jose Martinez, in 2010. The case is being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau. On May 2, 2019, Jose Martinez was additionally charged with two felony counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 years of age. He is currently being held in Los Angeles County jail awaiting court on July 8, 2019, at Pomona Superior Court, for the new charges.
Suspect Jose Martinez, male Hispanic 55 years-old, and former resident of Rowland Heights, was previously convicted of lewd acts on a child under 14 years-old in 2018. He is currently serving prison time for that conviction; there were several female victims in the previous case. All the victims were students at Rowland Elementary School on the 2000 block of Fullerton Rd in Rowland Heights, from 2015-2018. That case was also investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau.
